SPC’S VISION
The Railway Police are in line with the vision, the mission and the values established by the authorities and the heads of the integrated police.
SPC perform specialised and supralocal police missions and provides support to police authorities and local police services by doing the following:

  • acting as a reliable and essential partner offering valuable expertise
  • approaching phenomena related to the railway transportation of passengers and goods
having our own position, with our own identity, but in complementarity and co-operation with police and security services
  • being open to the outside world and to the ideas and wishes of our partners, of our authorities and of citizens, and by approaching them in a positive way in order to meet their needs and find solutions
  • being aware of the impact we have on mobility and adapt our way of functioning and our culture to the needs of our society
  • aiming at and contributing to excellence in policing through a continuous improvement culture
The Railway Police does all this for and in co-operation with our authorities, with our internal and external partners and, especially, with citizens.

In order to do so, we wish to employ motivated staff members, having the right equipment and trained to be able to cope with the latest developments of our specialised policing work.

SPC’S MISSION
The Railway Police perform their missions by:

  • developing a knowledge centre for all the authorities, police services and national and international partners, where the available expertise can be easily and quickly used in an operational way
  • intervening in our specialised field within reasonable time, as expected by our partners and required by citizens
  • providing flexible and quality reception in train stations, at places specified by the authorities and our partners managing events and crisis situations in a suitable way, in our specialised field
  • treating victims in a human way, together with our partners and the competent services providing a general picture of and by collecting administrative and judicial information on the phenomena
  • we fight in order to orient our internal functioning and to provide material for the “security image” drawn up by the authorities and our partners

SPC’S VALUES
As a member of the Railway Police, I try to implement a certain number of values, in addition to those of the Federal Police and of the police code of ethics.

These values are the following:

  • I care very much about the rights of the people I have contact with and I treat everyone with the same respect as I would myself,
  • I continually look for solutions in a spirit of help and flexibility and I care about what the others think,
  • I am open to the authorities, to our partners and to citizens,
  • I deliver quality police work but I am also aware of my impact on mobility and of the impact that our intervention can have on citizens’ everyday life,
  • I am aware and proud of my contribution to the security, life quality and mobility of our society.
